Infant milk regulation changes - P6B

Learn about the key nutritional changes to infant formula and follow-on milk and how to communicate these changes to customers, where appropriate.

The Department of Health recommends that mothers should exclusively breastfeed for the first six months of their newborn’s life.1  However, in some circumstances, this may not be possible due to personal choice or breastfeeding difficulties. In these situations, concerned parents may come to the pharmacy for advice on first infant formula and the options available to them.

This module will help you:

  • Learn about the key nutritional changes to infant formula and follow-on milk
  • Understand the reasons for the changes
  • Communicate the changes to customers, where appropriate.
